How to get to Portici, from Naples Airport or Train Station

There are two options for getting to Portici from Naples. The first option is to take a taxi from the airport or train station to Portici. You can organise a taxi at good rate via “Taxi Giulio”, mobile: +39 339 499 8218. You can call or send him a what’s app message to organise your pick-up even upfront. (E.g. to get from Naples Airport to Portici is around 40 – 45 €; for 1 – 4 people at a time).

The second option is to take a bus go to Naples train station, where you can hop on a train to Portici. From the train station in Portici, you can e.g. walk to Villa Signorini, or arrange with “Taxi Giulio” for a transfer to your hotel. (The cost for a pick-up from Portici train station to your hotel depends on the distance; please enquire with “Taxi Giulio” upfront)

Dinner

26 April – Dinner on the Vesuvio

Due to complications with the visit to the Vesuvian Observatory, we will visit the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum where we will be guided around stunning excavations. Being in this historical surrounding, we will get a lot of insights into the excavations. The admission + tour guide amounts to 20 € / person, and we would like to ask you to fill in the google form whether you would like to go to the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum: Registration form

(For those who are not visiting Archaeological Park of Herculaneum, there will be the opportunity to go back to the hotel or be picked up from the hotel. Pick-up times to be communicated)

We continue with savouring Italian cuisine in a completely unique setting on the Vesuvio with beautiful sea view. Get your meal started with delicious prosecco, opt for a seafood menu (50,00 euros) or a meat menu (40,00 euros) and finish with the famous limoncello in a natural environment. Dinner price does not include the cost of the drinks.

Important change: Departure will be at 16:45 hrs from the front of the Royal Palace (30 mins earlier than planned). Please be there for departure by bus in time.

27 April – Pizza at the seashore in Naples

Come along to our networking dinner on Via Partenope in Naples and enjoy the night lights close to the sea. Enjoy the delicious taste of ‘una vera pizza napoletana’, in an Italian atmosphere while talking to like-minded people and serving up soil science. Price around 35,00 euros per person. Dinner price does not include the cost of the drinks.

In order to guarantee smooth meeting proceedings, we would like to ask every participants to our Final Conference and Save Our Soils Workshop to comply with the following:

Please bring your green pass (valid proof of vaccination or recovery from COVID) on your phone for a check upon entrance into the Royal Palace, University of Naples. (Not necessary for entering the hotel)
Should you not have a valid proof of vaccination or recovery from COVID, you will have to provide either of the following test options:
A, rapid test (valid 48 hrs) or B, molecular test (valid 72 hrs). (Not necessary for entering the hotel)
FFP2 masks must be worn in all indoor locations as well as public transports. Please bring your own mask and ensure to wear it.
